Game regularly crashing upon landing

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've been plagued by a crash bug for months now, tho I can't pinpoint at which point it started occuring. Might've been the patch that overhauled the parachute mechanics.

It occurs pretty regularly, I would say about every 10th to 15th match on average, but it's not possible to predict when it will hit.

What happens is: As soon as I touch ground or very shortly thereafter my game just freezes for a second (including sound) and then immediately crashes to desktop. Right up to this point everything behaves normally, so there is no "sign" that the crash will occur. No unusual stuttering, graphic glitches or sound problems. It does not seem to make a difference, which map I am on.

While my game very very rarely also crashes mid-play, this particular problem seems to be tied to the landing in some way. And it is terribly annoying, as it can ruin a complete squad game in an instance. At best I can rejoin the game and try to keep up, but usually it ends up with me dying, as we tend to land in more or less popular starting areas.

I've already ran multiple integrity checks for PUBG in steam, with no results whatsoever.

My specs:

Intel Core i5-6600K
2x8 GB RAM (Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4-2133)
ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING
Zotac Geforce GTX 1070 Mini
Leagy USB Sound Card (using a CMedia CM6206-LX chip)
Running the game from a classic 7200 rpm HDD (Seagate ST2000DM001)

Windows 10 Pro with latest updates
