BattlEye [INFO] Blocked loading of file: Saitek\DirectOutputService.exe

Recommended Posts

This has been a problem since October:

I can only play if I use Task Manager to stop the SaiDOutput service, but that's an essential component of my Saitek X52 Pro joystick and Flight Instrument Panel drivers.

Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1

It's a joystick. How does it matter for PUBG? Seems like that driver might be responsible for taking data from a game to display some extra info, like the nav ball etc. It might be trying to interact with PUBG which would be a bit of a nono, since there is no reason why you would want to extract info from the game.

What about my issue ? SmartManager doesn't interact with the game, at all.

You said yourself that you made a separate post about it. Smart manager also has nothing to do with Saitek or with Logitech X52 Pro Joystick. Also, are you certain that it does not do anything with any processes? Looks like the sort of program that might manage active processes as well.

The DirectOutput service doesn't probe active processes; it just manages the hardware devices and responds to calls from DirectOutput.dll, which the game would have to seek out and link against if they wanted to utilize Saitek displays:

There's a general problem of BattlEye blocking legitimate device drivers and services, which started about a month ago and is still affecting many people:

I'm providing another data point so they can fix the bug.

When going over the posts you've linked the one thing common with all but one (cause he doesn't mention it) was Windows 7.

Same thing with you. Windows 7.

That os is going the way of the dodo very soon. Microsoft ended mainstream support for Windows 7 on January 13, 2015, but extended support won’t end until January 14, 2020. After that the only updates will be from paid updates.

I'm getting the feeling that some companies like battleye are going to just stop supporting it which is why there are so many issues ATM and it's just getting worse.

This is a PUBG/BattlEye bug introduced in October, and this forum is where the developers direct anyone who wants to report a bug.  We're not here to solicit advice from the peanut gallery about which supported operating system to choose, or whether we should have joystick drivers installed.  My current workaround of toggling the SaiDOutput service is far less headache than Windows 10.
