  1. Hello, this is the second post related to the late loading textures on hard drives disks. for every one to be in context should read this before. once you read this, if you have problems with the scripts. here is the sample script. # MyDefrag v4.0 default script: Defragment only # # This script is part of the standard MyDefrag distribution. Title('Defragment only D:') Description("Defragment only description") // See the "Settings.MyD" file. /* Do not ignore wrap-around fragmentation. This script is advised for people that want to compare with other defragmenters, and other defragmenters do not know about wrap-around fragmentation. */ IgnoreWrapAroundFragmentation(no) WriteLogfile("MyDefrag.log","LogHeader") ## SELECT THE VOLUME DISK WHERE THE GAME IS VolumeSelect Name("D:") VolumeActions MakeGap(0) AppendLogfile("MyDefrag.log","LogBefore") FileSelect ##HERE WE PUT THE FULL PATH OF THE GAME, LOOK THE VOLUME DISK USED, MUST BE THE SAME FullPath("D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG","*") FileActions Defragment(Fast) /* Quickly defragment files that are smaller than the largest gap. */ Defragment() /* Slowly defragment files that are bigger than the largest gap. */ MoveDownFill() AddGap(RoundUp(ZoneEnd,VolumeFree * 0.01)) FileEnd VolumeEnd AppendLogfile("MyDefrag.log","LogFooter") your MyD file should be like this. just copy and paste this script and update the path to your PUBG folder, remember to put the Volume Disk correctly so the defrag can find it. if correctly used the game should be fine and without problems.
  2. This is my first thread dont be mean. Alright, since i started to play this game i had this problem that textures dont load propperly and while you're waiting some other ramdon player just catch you, and well... its bad. I was reading on this thread and "the only solution is that you HAVE the game on a SSD to avoid this issue" So.. thinking and searching about optimation of the disk i found something glorious called Defragmenter and started to search tools to that, in that search i found 2 that where in almost all top's defragmenters, so i downloaded and started to figure out how i could optimaze my games (not only PUBG) and other files. The programs are 1.MyDefrag v4.3.0 (4.3.1 is the latest) and 2.Defraggler both are awesome but using both is the best way to optimize but i recommend only use MyDefrag becouse Defraggler just defragment what MyDefrag cant, i will show you This was the starting state of my disk where i have all my games and programs, PUBG at the end of the disk (Bottom) ...And this is the final result, putting PUBG at the beggining of the disk (Top) The difference is HUGE in the time the game loads, even the black screen dont keep even in the lobby and i never got the problem that this screen keep it for ever an you can walk and run to nowhere becouse the game did'nt load properly. So i'm going to copy and paste the script i created to not only defragment PUBG, but also to putting it at the beggining of the disk (so reads faster an loads faster) and other folders i have so you can mofify the folders name FullPath("D:\path\to\folder","*") to your way, dont forget to open a text editor and save it with the .MyD extension so the final script is "myScript.MyD" and then double click. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ # MyDefrag v4.0 default script: Defragment only # # This script is part of the standard MyDefrag distribution. Title('Defragment only D:') Description("Defragment only description") // See the "Settings.MyD" file. /* Do not ignore wrap-around fragmentation. This script is advised for people that want to compare with other defragmenters, and other defragmenters do not know about wrap-around fragmentation. */ IgnoreWrapAroundFragmentation(no) WriteLogfile("MyDefrag.log","LogHeader") VolumeSelect Name("D:") VolumeActions MakeGap(0) AppendLogfile("MyDefrag.log","LogBefore") ## THIS ZONE IS TO DEFRAGMENT AND PUT AT THE BEGGINING OF DISK FileSelect FullPath("D:\Juegos\Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG","*") FileActions Defragment(Fast) /* Quickly defragment files that are smaller than the largest gap. */ Defragment() /* Slowly defragment files that are bigger than the largest gap. */ MoveDownFill() AddGap(RoundUp(ZoneEnd,VolumeFree * 0.01)) FileEnd ## HERE FINISHES THE PUBG SCRIPT ## FROM HERE YOU CAN EDIT WHAT EVER YOU WANT BUT THE IDEA IS THE SAME AND OPTIONAL BUT YOU CAN DELETE UNTIL "VolumeEnd" FileSelect FullPath("D:\Juegos","*") FileActions Defragment(Fast) /* Quickly defragment files that are smaller than the largest gap. */ Defragment() /* Slowly defragment files that are bigger than the largest gap. */ MoveDownFill() FileEnd AppendLogfile("MyDefrag.log","LogAfter") FileSelect FullPath("D:\Program Files","*") FileActions Defragment(Fast) /* Quickly defragment files that are smaller than the largest gap. */ Defragment() /* Slowly defragment files that are bigger than the largest gap. */ MoveDownFill() AddGap(RoundUp(ZoneEnd,VolumeFree * 0.01)) FileEnd AppendLogfile("MyDefrag.log","LogAfter") ## The rest of files FileSelect All FileActions Defragment(Fast) /* Quickly defragment files that are smaller than the largest gap. */ Defragment() /* Slowly defragment files that are bigger than the largest gap. */ MoveDownFill() FileEnd AppendLogfile("MyDefrag.log","LogAfter") VolumeEnd ## LEAVE THIS AppendLogfile("MyDefrag.log","LogFooter") ##LEAVE THIS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you run this script it will sart defraggin and that stuff, the final result is something like this The green zone is the PUBG folder defragmented on the beggining of the disk, the red color are unmovable files. on defraggler will put the files as fragmented but this is result of the unmovable files that are in middle of the big files from PUBG. The final result of all the process is a disk like this Since that not only PUBG load faster and "Fix" the issue with the loading-for-ever textures and the black screen with the logo. I dont know if it will work to you but this did it to me. I will be reading comments to see your results if you want to give it a try and answering questions. PD: after using the script and dont want to see de "fragmente files" from PUBG that show defraggler remember that shows it that way couse unmovable files and if you defragment that files with defraggler it will move it to other zone where the file can fit perfectly without being "fragmented" by an unmovable file but that can make the game take more time to search that file on the disk. Greetings from Colombia.
