  1. It has an incredibly steep learning curve and no skill based matchmaking system, so less skilled and new players drop out quickly and there's no-one to replace longer term players when they move on to something else.
  2. This patch is full of juicy new treats, be happy.
  3. I didn't say that, that's what people here are claiming and I'm repeating to try and discover if this is genuinely their point, because it sounds a bit daft to me. Also, taking a moment to defend Bluehole here, they were a nowhere developer who made a game of a kind they never had before that just happened to become wildly more popular than they were prepared for or had the resources to deal with. It's unfair to have expected them to fix all of the problems so quickly like everyone, including yourself, seemingly expected them to do. Personally I love the game in the state that it's in right now, with the exception of the fact the player base is reducing. My only disappointment is that they never got round to making a skill based matchmaking system that would have allowed new and lesser skilled players to not feel out of their depth, which personally I think is probably the actual hidden cause of the massive player loss, and now is apparently impossible to implement because of said reduced player base.
  4. Are we basically saying then that no game can ever realistically sustain 100 player servers for any length of time? Because if I remember rightly, PUBG was the first ever game on steam to have 1mil concurrent players and no other game on steam has done it again, right? Soooo...no more 100 player games ever again then?
  5. I agree, it certainly seems to be dying in certain regions/modes. EU TPP still seems to be very healthy, which is where I am, but some regions are struggling to keep all maps open which sucks. I honestly think the biggest issue is gaining and holding new players. If a ranking system is out of the question then they need to think of something else fast. Some free weekends maybe?

No I'm not, I was responding to you saying it was dead by default if it was under 500k And I think you should read my comment, which was laughing at the idea that a game under a million players was dying, not what you just said. I'm not denying the game is losing players. Also what is a "time to average skill" graph. It sounds like complete nonsense but I'd love to see one. No i'm not, I even stated "So unless a game with 100 players per map isn't one of the top 4 or 5 most popular games" Seriously, do you guys even read the comments people post before responding to something completely different? All I did was laugh at the numbers boodge posted, which are ridiculous, I'm not denying the game is losing players.
  7. So unless a game with 100 players per map isn't one of the top 4 or 5 most popular games in the world it's dead or dying? Oh please. However I agree that ranked is needed. The problem with pubg is that it's so hard for new players to pick up, without being put against other noobs they're just gonna get minced. That's the most important thing for them to focus on IMO.
  8. Turns out it's not true! Saw another vid and there's a tunnel entrance, but it's closed and definitely no tunnel. It makes sense it couldn't work really cus if someone was in the tunnel and someone on the hill it could make for a pretty awful end game.
  9. It's not the end of the world, doesn't make a huge amount of difference. Biggest change I heard is that they've added a south tunnel entrance to prison that runs all the way under the hill and comes out near the road north of mini milta power. Not confirmed it myself though.

Gonna dump this response I put to the "why is pubg losing players" thread because it seems relevant: Inaccessibility to new players I think is a major issue.PUBG is a hard game to break into; the gunplay mechanics take time to master and the skill level of the players who have stuck by the game through everything is high. There are many games out there which use arcadey gun mechanics and have a lower skill ceiling to get kills. Players who are used to these games will struggle to crack PUBG. I was terrible for at least a year of constant playing until I got used to it.The answer to this question is a proper skill-based matchmaking system. Alongside this, increase how much gun skill relates to rank, because at the end of the day although this is a survival game, and I agree that it should remain survival focused, I can only imagine that getting instantly diced by players with way better gun skill over and over again must be a huge frustration to new players. The only way to compensate for this in a skill based matchmaking system is to make kills and accuracy much more important in determining rank.

  12. Be careful, the devs might see this and increase all SR, DMR and rifle spawns by 10x or something.
