    How is it possible?

I didn't care for Apex. I actually did like Blackout's faster playstyle , but there's something about Apex's play style that I dont care for... It feels like Overwatch and Fortnite had a baby and out came Apex Legends.

    Movement Improvements

Movement seems fine on PC with a mouse. It's a bit more realistic in terms of movement speed/physics. I feel like Movement on the console versions feels really bad though lol.

    Sanhok loot Nerfed?

The sanhok loot does feel a little bit nerfed I agree. Could be wrong though
  4. I actually won a game where a guy threw a smoke at me, and I was able to use it to my advantage to get an angle on him. Poor guy.
  5. I mean... I think everyone can agree it's incredibly tilting when someone chucks 3-4 or more grenades at your general vicinity. (or even just blind throws that happen to get you) Let the guy vent
  6. I get 2-3 spammed my way fairly often. I do appreciate they reduced their spawn rate on Vikendi a bit, i don't get nearly as many chucked at me as I used to.
  7. Just got done playing a game and like 5 out of the 6 people that I went for headshots on had L3 Helmets....... Bluehole you really need to put L3 Helmets back in crates, the risk/reward for snipers is no longer there. Reducing the spawn rate is a good start, but they shouldn't exist in the world at all

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

You're using the wrong type of argument. Even though Snipers are countered by L3 Helmets, and are slightly more rare, they are still GOOD. They just aren't competitive with DMR's is all. The map is very sniper friendly in the sense that due to the long ranges you will be advantaged as a sniper against a non-sniper. Like I said I should have said M24/K98 is useless (compared to DMR) , not useless entirely. But it is very odd that they decided to upend the SR/DMR balance so heavily when they were pretty competitive with each other before. The map is AMAZING to snipe people on (whether you use a DMR or traditional SR). I get a ton of kills from 100-200 meters on this map. Does this make it sniper friendly? Yes. Get that through your head! /bonk

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

Even though sniper rifles are objectively worse than their DMR Counterparts, they are still better than a M16 on Vikendi. Just because SR/DMR spawn less does not negate their necessity on Vikendi. If you get stuck in a longer range battle with someone and you don't have access to an SR/DMR, you're at a huge disadvantage. I should probably clarify my thread title "M24/K98 useless compared to DMR" ... Because they're still better than nothing (they just didn't need nerfs is all IMHO). In the majority of engagements, having an SR/DMR on Vikendi is actually beneficial to the party who has one. If you try engage someone who has a SR from 100+ meters away (common on Vikendi) with an SMG in your hands, you're going to have a bad time. Vikendi is definitely a sniper friendly map, you're just not as likely to find a sniper rifle is all.

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

How a map is designed in terms of what weapons work well with the map, is first dictated by how the map is laid out. Changing the loot to force a certain type of loot distribution to change this does not reflect how the map was "designed". Snipers, and moreso DMR's are very effective on Vikendi due to the long sightlines. Yes they are hard to find, but that doesn't making sniping BAD. The biggest problem is the L3 helmet spawn, since it makes the already rare Sniper Rifles exponentially worse than their DMR Counterparts (which were arguably always better in the first place). You're probably just another salty noob who gets headshot by snipers because he doesn't know how to peek properly. I'm glad that you finally found your salvation in welfare L3 Helmets on Vikendi

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

The base map (terrain, design) is very sniper friendly, they just chose to force everyone into using close-range weapons on a very long-range map. For what reason I do not know. It would be like the Sanhok Devs going: "Gee, Sanhok really seems to be good for close-range weapons (Vector). Maybe we should make everyone run around with M24's and M16's and make full-auto weapons extremely rare drops...." That being said long range weapons are still very important on Vikendi due to the large amounts of open areas. And L3 Helmets don't do shit in regards to DMR Balance - they are still a 2 hit kill regardless. They disproportionately nerf sniper rifles though. Maybe you need to figure out how the game works bud

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

Lol what? There are plenty of long sightlines to snipe on this map. If anything it's 1000% more sniper-friendly than Sanhok. I won last night using the SLR / 8x scope and I was able to take advantage of the full zoom in several scenarios. Something that would be hard to do on Sanhok (4/6x is the most I will use on that map).

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

Just because something doesn't affect me, doesn't mean that I can't have an opinion on it. Sure, this change benefits me more than anything, but it makes the game almost boring when I don't have to worry about snipers anymore. The last five games I won I was able to find a L3 Helmet, and I recall two recent games where I got headshot on a reckless peek, and went on to win the game still (I should have lost). It's OK I still win regardless. 19.5% win-rate after last night's games. DMR's are the way to go now

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

Uh huh, seems like an easy cop-out rationalization you just made there. SR/DMR were balanced delicately before. L3 Helmets on Vikendi has broken that delicate balance by making DMR's insanely over-valued. You keep saying "Adapt or die" lmao. Can you say anything else? I already HAVE adapted. I never really used SR much anyways (just less-so now), and I have almost a 20% win-rate using DMR's when I can get my hands on them. You can keep trying to pin this as a "personal problem", but it goes much further than that. If anything this change benefits me since I'm primarily a DMR Player.

    Let us pick the map!

If we didn't have map select it would be a lot easier to match players with close pings, and we'd probably see less de-sync. Also queue times would decrease tremendously. I think map select was fine when we had 2-3 maps, but 4 is stretching us too thin.

    Rain and Fog

I am not a huge fan of the "dynamic" weather being the primary way to experience weather changes. There should be a chance to have the map permanently under rain/fog/etc. when loading in.

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

Are you surprised that a bolt-action sniper rifle would one-shot someone in the head? It's honestly easier said than done if you're playing against any decent player too. Don't sit still, don't re-peek the same corner twice, re-position often. These are all things a decent player will do when they're going up against someone with an SR zero'd in on their head. To answer your question fully - I wouldn't say an SR really cheeses anything. It takes a lot more gun-skill to be good with an SR in comparison to a DMR.
  18. Imerzan

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

Because it broke the balance between SR/DMR. Sure, I get the advantage of cheesing SR's with L3 Helmets just like everyone else does. Doesn't change the fact that SR's are a poor option compared to a DMR if you're looking to be most effective. Just because you can show me a video of one situation doesn't mean there aren't a thousand others that turn into a long minute-plus game of chess (re-positioning/peeking different corners, etc.) This is typically how it turns out when you take a shot at someone and don't kill them (and you decide to engage each other and not run away). Also the SLR with a cheek pad is easy to get two shots off relatively quickly with good accuracy. It's fairly easy to catch people unaware and get them while they're standing still too. Sure it doesn't always happen, but when it does they're a free kill even if they're wearing a L3 helmet.

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

Exactly Now most decent players will either find one, or kill someone and loot one by the time the game reaches the top 10. When I get down to 2 people left it's almost ALWAYS someone with a L3 Helmet now which never used to be the case.

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

It never did work 100% of the time. Being good with a bolt-action sniper is a lot harder than with a DMR since your fire rate is limited severely. They were balanced against each other with the K98/M24 having a one-shot kill on the head, and the DMR having a faster fire rate. Now since they're both 2 hit kills in the majority of Top-10 situations, the K98/M24 is no longer balanced as it used to be. I already have adapted by avoiding the K98/M24 and picking up DMR's when I get the chance. It's hilarious watching people with L3 Helmets sitting still like they think they're safe, and then I blast them in the head followed up by a 2nd shot to kill them before they even have a clue. If I was using the K98, they would have rushed behind cover by the time I reload. So what's the point?
  21. You must cold drop I drop Volnova and get an SLR/SKS most games I still find most people in the top 10 have an L3 helmet though, even with the drop nerf. Even if someone doesn't find one, they might loot it off someone who did

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

Or, instead of spending potentially 1+ minutes tagging him, and then re-positioning (hoping he doesn't SEE me reposition in this process) .... I could: Tag him twice with the SLR before he knows what hit him, and save myself all the hassle. Why would I limit myself to something bolt-action that is cumbersome/time consuming to take multiple shots with, when I could STILL kill him in two hits with the semi-auto gun before he has the chance to react? What YOU don't understand is that on Erangel/Miramar/Sanhok, the vast majority of opponents had L2 Helmets, so if you managed to get the headshot, they were done for. BOOM. Dead. This made the K98/M24 an attractive weapon choice. By the time you reach the Final 10 in Vikendi, most players have either found a L3 Helmet, or killed someone and took it from them by this point. You're 100% right that it's possible to still kill someone with these weapons, they're just considerably worse than their DMR counterparts in all regards now. At least on the earlier maps, Snipers were balanced in comparison to DMR's since they made up for their slower rate of fire with the guarantee to one-hit-kill the majority of players in the head (since L3 helmets were so rare). No matter how you try and justify it, the sniper rifles (minus AWM) are all objectively worse than they were before Vikendi. Honestly I rarely got one-hit-killed by the K98/M24. If you're a half decent player you won't sit there and let someone line up an easy headshot on you. That means moving while looting, don't peek the same spot twice, don't stand still EVER in the open, etc. If someone managed to headshot me as I'm running across a field then it was most likely a hell of a shot and by all means they deserved the kill.
  23. OP, Watching closely it looks like your Fire Select is changing from Single/Auto in a few cases. I'm pretty sure something is messed up on your end. I would check into that first.

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

the m24 yes kar98 will only do about 80(ish?) damage to an L3 you're going to be hard pressed to get a second headshot too, they likely wont peek again, or will re-position. It honestly drags things out way more than when 90% of people had L2 helmets. The whole point is that by the time the bolt reloads I could have already fired a second shot with the SLR thus killing them. Going for the patient headshot with the SR just isn't as reliable as before.

    M24/K98 useless on Vikendi

Yeah the SKS needs a Vert or Lightweight grip for decent handling (and/or cheek pad), but if it has a grip/cheek pad it's usually pretty easy to control for quick shots. A bolt-action is nicer for the peek game sometimes, but there are plenty of times where I scope in on someone when they're not looking, and I can go for a quick head shot + body shot. If I use the Bolt-action and they have a L3 Helmet they will run behind cover before I can reload.
