Date Seen:This bug has been around since the very early stages of the game (pre-1.0). And has persisted until now.
This bug usually occurs when a players PC is under heavy load, or when a lot of things are going on around the player ingame (Example: Competitive late game fights/rotations). Currently active smoke grenades will either stop rendering all together, or unrender and re-start their bloom animation entirely from the affected players POV. This can render smoke grenades useless or actually kill the team that is attempting to use them. Even in the case where the animation restarts, thats 5-6 seconds that the affected player is able to "see through the smoke".
A good example of this is here: https://clips.twitch.tv/PeppyUnsightlyFennelRlyTho . Notice how before he scopes in, there is a large cloud from 3 different smoke grenades, but once he scopes in on the area, the smoke grenades broke on his client and did not show up at all. This is because his computer was under heavy load as he was streaming a scrim game.
